Is the general American Education system preparing students for college as well as it is supposed to be?
There has been much debate the past few years about the education system and its efficiency. It is common knowledge that there have been multiple attempts to fix the system. There have been "no child left behind" laws passed and schools have been switching over to the common core. Is switching over to common core really all it takes to fix our 'failing' system?
The common core system was designed to prepare our children, our brothers, and our sisters for a higher education and increase their chances of obtaining a career. It is important to get our children the education that they need but is it worth it to take away their childhood to get there? We are taking away our brothers playground and replacing it with a book. Children today are spending so many hours outside of school on homework demanded by the common core. The only playground children have is education. This takes away very valuable time from these children. Kids need time to play outside and be creative. One day we will have an education system that can prepare our kids for college, give them their childhood back, and return their creativity.

In the screen shot above it is obvious that the initial standards of the common core system were to have the skills needed to succeed in college and life are supposed to be "effectively taught and learned." If the common core is teaching our bothers in line with this principle then why are college drop out rates increasing?
